Ok, well I don’t technically live in a dorm, but I’m back! I got in around 3:30 and immediately got to talkin’ with some friends! Two girls that graduated last year were in town visiting and it was really great to see them and catch up.
I was starving around 5:00pm and was REALLY craving a warm bowl of oats…so that’s just what I had! Rather pathetic, actually, but it was just what I needed!
This bowl had:
-1/2 cup oats
- cinnamon
- maple syrup
- 1/2 a banana
- 4 chocolate chips and a spoon of organic natural peanut butter from Costco
I finally figured out why I didn’t like banana in oats…I always cooked them too much! Tonight I added them in and only let them cook for 30 seconds and it was YUMMY!
I have spent the rest of the evening unpacking and getting myself organized for the week. Only four nights and I will be back in T-town!
A hot shower and PJ’s are calling my name…Night!

Hey girl! Thanks for the flax-y tips :D I ground it today so don’t worry! But question- can I ground it all, and keep it in the fridge or something…or should I grind it each time I’m going to eat it?? Thanks girl- hey i’m also catching up on your posts, I’m gonna add u to my reader and blogroll :D Have a great night!
I’m not a big banana IN oats fan either, but I’m going to try your method =)
mmmmmmmm GREAT bowl of oats – love the chocolate addition :)
Thanks carolinebee! You could definitely grind it in advance and store it in the fridge! Thanks, I love your blog too!
Wow that shot of oatmeal looks good… I need to get me some choc chips!!
Yummy oats for dinner! I usually add the banana on top after it’s done cooking, but recently I tried it while it was cooking for the first time. Do you cook yours on the stove or in a microwave? They look delicious!
Those oats look awesome! So much more photogenic then mine!
