What a weekend! It was absolutely wonderful. I am physically and mentally exhausted, yet happy and enthusiastic. Not the normal feeling that comes with fatigue but great all the same!
This morning around 8:30 we started with a Master Flow class. 90 minutes of graceful flow yoga, with deep hip openers (think legs behind your head!), a long savasana, and a beautiful guided meditation at the end. Our teacher led us through a visualization that was deeply moving. It brought up so much emotion in me, but in a good way! I have never felt so moved by meditation and it was inspiring to see how powerful it can be.
We had a lunch break but I didn’t have my camera, as I wasn’t expecting to be dining out with the group! We went to a place called the Village Health Market and I had a salad with some White Bean Soup. I also had an Odwalla Berries Go-Mega drink which was delicious! I wanted something sweet (go figure!) and this did the trick! Have you guys ever tried one of these? They are really tasty! This one had 3grams of fiber per serving which was pretty impressive!

After lunch we talked about the Yoga Sutras. We are studying the eight limbs of yoga and discussed the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. We also did an exercise on projections, or the qualities that we assign to someone based on our first impression of someone in a video. It was interesting to see that many of the things we see in others, positive or negative, are things that we see or want to see in ourselves. For example, I described a woman as light-hearted and free or not bound by limitations that may or may not exist, two things that I deeply desire. It was really cool!
I was almost sad when the day ended. I wanted to learn more and more. At least there are 7 weekends left! I also have an exciting workshop coming up in two weeks that will be on flow yoga and ecstatic dance…doesn’t that sound COOL!?
Yesterday we were all STARVING during the afternoon session. One of my friends kept talking about pizza. This was while we were working on pronunciation of the sanskrit words for poses. Well, she combined her two faves, yoga and pizza and came up with a new pose: Pizzasana. People say crazy things when yogic bliss meats hunger. I partook in some pizzasana myself tonight. We used the whole wheat pizza dough from Greenwise and made a veggie pizza. I put lots of cheese on most of it for the fam but just a sprinkle for myself. My favorite part of pizza is the chewy crust and tomato sauce…no need for lots of cheese!
This pizza had red onion, yellow bell pepper and mushrooms. It was carb-olicious and just what I had been craving!
Tonight will be spent relaxing and getting ready to go back to Gainesville tomorrow. Don’t worry, I will be returning to Tampa this weekend coming up for the blogger lunch. Fine by me! I think I will leave around 10:00 or so tomorrow. We shall see!
Oh, and Thank You for understanding my lack of posting throughout the day today! It was quite busy but I am excited to get back to regular posting tomorrow =)
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday night!

I love the idea of a pizzasana. Can there be a cookieasana too?
Glad you had a fabulous weekend – it sounds so relaxing :)
That pizza looks great!
FANTASTIC weekend, girl!!
I always have to have alot of cheese on my pizza! That’s the whole point is the cheesy goodness!
I LOVED reading about your yoga teacher training experience…it’s so cool how there is so much spirituality behind yoga (or vice versa??). Totally understand how you were moved by the meditation–I’ve definitely been moved to tears in plenty of yoga classes before :) Props for all your hard work this weekend and thanks again for sharing!
I’m more of a pizza crust lover myself to. :)
Glad to hear good reviews on the teacher training!
Your weekend sounds amazing!! I am green with envy! :)
I’m so glad you had a wonderful weekend! It sounds blissfully amazing :)
More and more I am appreciating pizza without cheese. I started eating it sans cheese when I read that Meghann said she didn’t notice a taste difference. I can definitely agree that the cheese does not make a pizza as much as other wholesome ingredients do!
Yay for being back in Gainesville AND the Blogger lunch next weekend!! Let me know if you’re up for the Farmers’ Market or something this week :) Drive safe!
The Odwalla is good! You might want to try Naked Juice if you liked that, if you haven’t already.
Almond buttersana? Butternut squash friesana? The possibilities are endless, though I doubt anything could top that pizza!
I haven’t tried that particular flavor, but I do love Odwalla products!
Your pizza looks awesome and is making me crave it!! Mushrooms on pizza are so yummy :)
