Peanut Butter is My Lover

by hungryyogini on March 10, 2009

What is it about nut butter that is just so amazing? Every morning, I try to think of what I can have for breakfast that is different. Muesli? That would be good…but how would I incorporate warm melty nut butter into that!? Oh I know…a Smoothie! Nope, no warm peanut butter in there. That’s when I always get the best idea…OATS! They never fail me.

This morning’s bowl was simple with 1/2 cup oats, 1 very ripe banana, cinnamon, 1 tsp maple syrup, 1 tbsp flax and 2 tbsp peanut butter! I measured out the PB today because I was curious as to how much I had been putting on my oats. Well, turns out my spoons are usually more than a tbsp for sure, but definitely less than 2. This was quite the abundance of PB on my oats today, although I enjoyed the sticky blob thoroughly.   I managed to eat all the PB, but couldn’t get through all of the oats. Mmm…I can taste the PB now. SO good.

Maybe tomorrow I will try something new for breakfast…maybe.

Have a fabulous Tuesday!

I had pumpkin seed butter in my oats this morning = TOTALLY divine (and contains a whopping 10.5 grams of protein per serving).

I eat oatmeal every single day, so I say DON’T try something new tomorrow, haha ;-)

Happy Tuesday!!

I’m definitely starting to think that I simply use the oats as a delivery device for my nut butter :)

PB on oatmeal is the perfect combo! :D

I am still trying to work my way to adding nut butter to my oatmeal. I’m scared to add those calories (stupid ED) but everyone raves so much about it!

I feel exactly the same way! For the longest time I could not stray myself from oats, but now I can, but there is still no way I can startmy day without some kind of nut butter. It would just throw my whole day off!

I am a HUGE fan of nut butters as well.. I just can’t get enough.

I notice that we are using the same theme…. have you been able to get it to download into Windows Live Writer? Mine won’t for some reason.

Oatmeal is so amazing. I have it every single morning also. I always think about trying something new, but I just can’t stop myself from making my beloved stove top oats!

I can’t break away from my oats and oat bran and wheat bran. But I’m okay with it!

Breakfast without nut butter is like life without air. It’s not possible.

Leah,
I had to “Refresh My Theme” in Live Writer…It’s under Edit Blog Settings under the Blog tab. Hope that helps!

Thank you! I think I got it to work!

Life without nut butter is a no-no. I am right there with you on eating the same thing for breakfast – if it works why change?

I know! I love to have almond or peanut butter at breakfast! Today I warmed up my museli this morning just so I could add homemade almond banana butter!
