Despite the date, it’s been a fabulous day! Superstition smooooperstition. This afternoon I had lunch with some lovely yoga friends, Stephen and Kelly, a sweet couple who are expecting their first baby this summer. Stephen ended up having to have an emergency appendectomy this past Tuesday! GAH! I can’t believe it. He was fine all weekend through the Julian Walker yoga workshop and started to feel bad on Monday night. Tuesday night he was having surgery! It’s crazy how quickly things like that can come on.
I met up with Kelly at Datz Deli and we ordered some food to take over to their house. I ordered the “Jamaican Me Hungry” salad which had “grilled jerk chicken breast, crisp romaine, field greens, haden mango, fresh avocado, papaya, roasted walnuts, crumbled blue cheese, with datz mango cilantro vinaigrette.” It was delicious, however I didn’t snap a picture…please forgive me. I did get a picture of my beverage of choice however:
I just can’t help myself.
We sat outside in their backyard and talked for a while. We actually didn’t eat lunch until 2:30 or 3:00 and I was surprisingly not RAVENOUS by that point since I hadn’t really had a meal at that point. I’m tellin’ ya’, my appetite has been so strange and sporadic lately! Anyway, we had a really nice afternoon.
I left around 4:00 and wanted something sweet when I got home. Enter Gotta Have Java fro-yo:
It hit the spot for sure. It is absolutely gorgeous here today so I decided to take Raleigh for a little walk around the neighborhood around 5:30. When I got back my parents were sitting down to dinner:
I am not hungry at all right now since I had lunch so late (the salad was huge and I ate nearly the whole thing) so I think I will wait until later. Not sure if I will have the above meal or just something snacky. We shall see. I have had the funkiest eating schedule lately. I’m hoping to get into a little bit more of a routine in the next few days, especially since I am heading back to school on Monday.
I guess that means I have to start my day tomorrow with oats and peanut butter. Sacrifices… =)
