A Day at the Office

Step into my office…

Yes ladies and gentlemen, that is my office for the day. Complete with an office manager, Woody, therapeutic office plants, and a business line to take important phone calls. If I am going to sit and study, I’m gonna do it in style.

I nibbled on some fun stuff throughout the morning including chocolate before noon. Does this mean I have a problem? Hey, it’s 5 o’clock somewhere!

I also had this delicious, cold, perfectly ripe mango. I ate it kiwi style with a spoon:

Then I had to take an important…uhhh…business trip to India.

I used Happy Herbivore’s recipe for Red Lentil Dahl. It did not disappoint! The only changes I made were cooking the onions in ghee (clarified butter) and using a LOT more than a dash of cayenne. I like spicy! Served with brown rice and a dollop of Fage 2%…perfect!

Oh, and there may or may not have been a pre-lunch jam session to the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack. I was in a mood… =)

Uh oh, I think I hear my business line now…duty calls!

oh that dahl! I see a project for me over break :) That is a beautiful setting for studying and reading! Oh, and I just saw the post with your pup…so freakin’ cute! You’ve intrigued me to look up the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack; I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I have a feeling I’ll love both that and the music! Have a wonderful day!

Oh do, ask your office manager “Mr. Woody”, if he has any part-time positions available! I know I would love the job!

Your trip to India looks awesome! 8-)

You have a tree face in your office? Don’t you feel like somebody is constantly watching? When are you going to give up on this thing about being a “student” and just start cooking for people? All this stuff looks so good, but I’m too lazy to make it myself!?

Wow! if that was my work office, I’d be in serious danger of becoming a workaholic…

Your office is WAY better than mine!! I find it so ironic that I work for one of the most beautiful and well maintained golf courses in the country yet, during business hours, I do not see the light of day. Sad.

I just wish I had windows… sad. :sun:

Your dal looks so good, and thanks for linking to the recipe. I may make some the next time I’m craving my own little business trip to India!

I could handle a day at the office just like that… :)
