Lights Out

by hungryyogini on March 22, 2009

So about 10 minutes after my last post I hopped in the shower and laid down on my bed, ya know…just to shut my eyes for a second. Well, an hour later I got up and I’m pretty sure the ONLY reason I woke up is because I smelled something beautiful coming from the kitchen.

I walked in, glazed over from exhaustion, to find this:

Ina Garten is a genius. I love her recipes. They aren’t the most figure friendly, but seriously, homegirl can cook. Everything she uses in her cooking is so fresh and simple and classic. This recipe for Scallops Provencal is our favorite way to make scallops. It is decadent yet light and so flavorful. I wasn’t hungry since I had just had a smoothie, but couldn’t resist a taste of one of my favorite dishes.

Now, I leave you with an important question: Do you think 7:00pm is too early for bed time!? I hope you say no =)

Oh I’ve definitely lied down on my bed for a little rest and fallen asleep early! So, no it’s not too early. :) Sometimes your body is pleading for some relaxation and refreshment – so sleep, girl!

Aw you must have been beat! Ina is a genius – I love her and Jeffery :)

7 is NOT too early at all!

Ina Garten is amazing. I made one of her outrageous brownies not too long ago, and it called for a pound butter and over a pound of chocolate! They were so bad, but I almost felt guilty serving them because of all the ingredients I used. They were a hit none the less. How could they not be? :)

7 PM sounds like a good bedtime to me, especially after the weekend you’ve had! Night.

The scallops look amazing! I need to look through some of her recipes, it seems like the husband would love them! I have been so exhausted sometimes but determined to go to sleep at a ‘normal’ hour but I think if you are tired then just stop fighting it and go to sleep. Hope that you enjoyed your weekend!

I want to be one of the people on Barefoot Contessa that she makes a specialized meal for. I would die happy :)

Awww you’re too cute! I wish 7p.m. sounded like a good bedtime. Unfortunately, midnight is early to me. I clearly need to work on that. I hope you’re well-rested for the start of the week!

I agree with you about Ina Garten – I love her cooking show and have never been disappointed by a recipe. It would be awesome if she did a “light” cooking series!
