In the wee small hours of the morning…

by hungryyogini on April 7, 2009

There’s something deeply satisfying to me about waking up before 7:00am. I think I love the quiet, and the peaceful feeling that comes with watching the sun rise through the window. My alarm went off at 6:25 this morning and I hopped right to. I was the only one creeping around this big house at the time and although it was slightly eerie, I enjoyed every second.

Then I realized I wasn’t alone…I heard growling. Like crazy loud growling. It was fierce, it was scary, it was…my stomach.

That’s some Sunflower Flax bread from Greenwise with the last of my Maple Cinnamon Almond Butter, a sliced banana, and a Fage 2% on the side. Magic, my friends.

We are in the midst of a freak cold front here in Florida. It’s about 44* here this morning! And to think I was burning up in my shorts and t-shirt yesterday. I’m going to spend my morning crossing to do’s off the list, then it’s back home for me. What? It’s almost the weekend! Sort of…

I love being the first one up in the mornings. I don’t have class until 11am everyday, but I set my alarm for 7am. I wayyy more productive in the mornings than afternoons!

Ugh yeah my computer says it’s 43* here. I haven’t ventured out yet, but I know I’m going to be thinking “WHERE’S APRIL??” all day.

That bread looks fabulous especially with homemade almond butter! Definitely a breakfast that could compete with your usual oats :)

Wouldn’t you know it! As soon as I arrive in Tampa for my week off we have a cold snap! Oh well, at least I get to be home for a week! To quote the song , ” You’ve got to accentuate the positive!”

Courtney,
It’s cold in Nashville too. What happened to Spring? I LOVE getting up early in the mornings. I’m so much more productive throughout the rest of my day!

Promise you’ll make more of your Maple Cinnamon Almond Butter soon? I love seeing it in your posts. :)

Happy Tuesday my friend!

I love being the first one up, too. It makes me feel like I am on top of my game.

Awesome breakfast!

I’m usually the first one up on weekends and I like that quiet time to relax, read, do some yoga or watch early news. During the week is a different story. My husband is up around 3:30 and walking out the door around 5 which is when I get up. I’m still up by myself, but I can’t claim 1st.

I love waking up early as well! I feel like if I sleep in, half of my day is taken away!

Glad you tamed the angry beast ;)
