Check out my new ride…
Yep, I got a new set of wheels. We went and made “the final decision” on my new bike this afternoon. I’m so excited! I have always loved bike riding, ever since I was a kid. When I was 10, I lived in West Hartford, Connecticut. We used to ride over to this little trail right near our house that went along a beautiful reservoir for hours. I have tons of bike riding memories from back in the day. What a great (early) birthday present! I’m so excited to have a bike too since I can’t run (thank you gymnastics and the slipped disc that followed). You can only walk so much, ya know? I spent a longgggg time riding around this afternoon. I don’t think the day could have been any more beautiful!
Tonight’s dinner was delicious and all cooked by my dad. He is quite the cook and made some delicious food tonight. We had BBQ chicken,
and french un-fries (baked, not fried) with EVOO, hot sauce, salt and peppahhh, and a variety of fresh herbs from our garden.
He also par-boiled some broccoli for a vegetable side. I really wanted a salad so I put my meal together like so…
YUM! The potatoes were extra spicy and flavorful thanks to the fresh herbs. And the chicken was delicious too. I’m not sure what sauce he put on it but it was very smoky and spicy yet still sweet. I love grilled chicken on salad. So simple, light and just plain good. Raleigh wanted some too…
And that’s how I eat dinner every night. With my dog in my lap.

Funny, you picked out a white bike and mine is black. Other than that, they look pretty similar. It hasn’t been biking weather here lately but that is supposed to change tomorrow.

What level of gymnastics did you get up to? I was horrible at gymnastics (took it for years and could barely do a handspring), but I love it and follow it closely?

I haven’t been on a bike since I was a kid…I used to ride around my neighborhood and all around on that thing…loved the feeling of fresh air on my face! I’ve been feeling the itch to buy one lately…I’ll have to check back here to see how you like yours. :)
I am so jealous! I love it! I want a new bike so bad, because I, like you, grew up riding mine everywhere! I cant afford the kind I want, so I’m trying to figure out what kind to get on the cheap side.

Ha, my dad would have no idea how to parboil broccoli…I don’t think he has ever prepared a green veggie in his life! My sweet dad…he’s more of a steak and french fried kind of guy. :) Your dinner looked beautiful. So ready for summer and the smell of that grill!
So exciting about your bike. Didn’t know you had a slipped disc. I bet the yoga has helped you so much. I hear about so many young girls messing up their backs in gymnastics. Kind of sad, but I LOVE watching the sport. It’s always my favorite part of the Olympics.

Your new bike is GORGEOUS! I’ve been thinking of a new bike recently as well, since I haven’t had a new one since 4th grade and that one definitely does not fit me anymore! Raleigh is so cute and reminds me of my Bearded Collie, Cole :) They both have those similar “people eyes” that are different from the normal dog eyes!
SUCH a cute bike! I’ve been really wanting one for the last few months, but I just can’t invest in one if I think I’m moving…lame. But yours is adorable! My favorite color is white too, so I fully support this purchase!
