Orange you glad I didn’t say Peanut Butter and Banana Oats.

by hungryyogini on April 10, 2009

Morning guys! (is it too late for that? It’s 11:38am!)

Pardon my absence this morning. I went to a yoga class this morning called “Yoga Grooves” from 9-10:30. It was taught by Jen, a great teacher and even better friend. Holy moly, my body felt…different. I felt like I was doing yoga in someone else’s body! I was really tight and stiff, probably due to the long walk(s) I took yesterday and the bike riding? Maybe. I feel much better now though.

Anyway, class was really great. Before I left I had some “Yogi Shot Blocks.” Just two medjool dates stuffed with Maple Cinnamon Almond Butter.

When I got home I couldn’t decide if I wanted breakfast or lunch. Decisions, decicions. I was about 2 seconds away from making peanut butter and banana oats but then…I had an idea…

Creamsicle Smoothie

1 cup vanilla soy milk

1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder

1 orange

1/2 banana

Handful of ice

Holy deliciousness this was good. The orange was very subtle but it still tasted like one of those orange, creamy popsicles I used to love when I was a kid. YUM!

I had an open-face sandwich too, with Sabra sun dried tomato hummus, hot sauce, spinach and Boar’s Head Tuscan turkey.

And of course, there was dessert. Carob covered raisins

Not sure what’s on the agenda today. It feels like a Saturday! I need to get a little studying done but other than that, it’s gonna be a relaxing day. Happy Friday!

Okay… weirdness. Was the class at Yogani? Because I almost went to that class this morning! I am visiting family in Tampa and getting stuff together for my move there in May. I went to the Hot Flow class yesterday with Thom. It was awesome!

Hooray for Fridays that feel like Saturdays :-)) !

What a great smoothie! I’ve never tried adding an orange to my smoothies, but it sure sounds good. It’s definitely starting to finally feel like Spring is here with the cool drinks!

I live in a small town and I have no idea where I can find carob chips. I went vegan a couple of months ago and I have been searching for carob chips for months, but no luck…. do you have any ideas of where I might find them or where I could order them from??
Thanks!! :bunny:
