Happy Earth Day!

I wish I had known it was Earth Day before I had breakfast…

…because I wouldn’t have had my 1/2 an Ezekiel English Muffin with a “stick to the roof of your mouth” size portion of Maple Cinnamon Almond Butter and half a banana on a Styrofoam plate. After yesterday’s less than eco-friendly snack, I guess I’m on strike 2! Oopsies.

Anywho, I got up around 7:00am and went straight downstairs for 45 minutes of yoga. I had planned on doing an hour, but I say plan shman. Sometimes you just gotta do what you can! I’m going to incorporate walking into my day again today. I’m aiming for two walks. Other than that, I’m all study and no play.

My friend Tina and I were talking yesterday about how funny it is that we get so stressed, when really (I mean let’s be honest here…) our lives are less than difficult. We have all the joys and freedoms of being adults, without much of the work. Yes, exams are stressful, but really in the big picture, one silly exam grade isn’t going to affect my life ten years town the road. I’m about to spend three months doing pretty much nothing. Life is freakin’ good. It’s easy to get wrapped up sometimes! I’m hoping to keep that with me today as I study to prevent  some unnecessary stress, yes?  Do you ever stress over silly things?  How do you handle it?

Have a great day!

How are those Ezekiel english muffins? I love their bread, but have never ventured to the muffin side. Good good?

Your breakfast looks perfect!

Coco,
I like the EM’s better than the bread!

I LOVE your walking interspersed between studying idea…I’m totally stealing it!

And I definitely stress over the SILLIEST things, and then when I look at the big picture I realize how little I actually should be stressing out. Good point!

As a perfectionist, I stress over EVERYTHING – let’s not go there, haha ;-)

i stress about things ALL the time, and a trick i have learned that works for me, is the rule of 10s. i think about how the issue is affecting me now, then i think about how it will affect me in 10 minutes, 10 days, and 10 years…most of the time, its a ridiculous thing that i wont even remember in a week…so that usually calms me down. hope it helps?!

Elise,
Thanks for the tip! That’s a really great idea. I have heard of that before and always forget. Thank you for reminding me =)

I do stress… on days like today I WISH I was still a student.
Live it up and soak it in while you call my friend :)

yeah, it’s so easy to stress over things that don’t matter in the long run! I try not to, but it’s hard sometimes.

enjoy your Earth Day!

I do stress over little things from time to time but I have to remind myself to look at the bigger picture. After a quick pep talk I usually calm myself down!

I stress over things a lot. Usually after some venting and some quiet time, I can snap out of it, though. Some stress is good, though!

Of course I stress over little things…cooking, hitting all my healthy eats in 1 day, whether or not to exercise.

:)

Walking my dog makes it all go away. Total pet therapy.

I agree – it’s totally about perspective. Especially with stress. Is it worth it to get yourself all riled up? Usually no. Stay calm, do yoga, eat well, live happily. :-)

This post was perfect timing. I have a huge tax exam tomorrow night and then finals coming up in a little under two weeks. This was a great reminder to take a deep breath and remember what’s important. Thanks! =)

Yeah! I have heard of that 10 minutes, 10 months, 10 years approach. The book just came out I THINK!?! It is a great concept…and sometimes very difficult to remember…

Have a great earthy day! :yinyang:

I tried to go as earth friendly as I could today, and I only threw out 4 things- 2 paper towels, a plastic bag, and orange peels. Not bad…. but I could have done better.
