I Need A Drink

by hungryyogini on June 1, 2009

After a long day of cooking, errand running, doggie watching and working at the studio, I was ready for a cocktail.

I knew I needed something strong. A good, stiff drink…

Hey, wait a second. That’s not a cocktail.  Or is it? It sure had me feelin’ good! Just the same as yesterday. A simple and delicious end of the day treat!

Don’t worry. There are many more “cocktails” to come in the very near future. Today I bought some very ripe bananas at the store, chopped them up and froze them. Just thinkin’ ahead.

And I plan to reuse the plastic baggies. Being green is so…well, literally green in my case!

Off to play with S and K’s oldest children, Jack and Milly.  They get to hang with Aunt Courtney tonight Wink

Even their dogs are yogis!

Night guys!

I just noticed on the side of your page you bookmarked Bon Iver. I love his music. It took me a few listens to get into, but now it’s one of my absolutely favorites. I listened to it today, in fact. So peaceful. And a little depressing.

Great idea with the bananas! If you could see all the unidentifiable brown things that once resembled bananas on my counter right now, you’d understand my excitement.

I go through weird stages where sometimes all I want is a green smoothie and other times nope! All i want is oatmeal!

Hi! I read your blog pretty regularly & wanted to give you a tip on banana freezing! If you cut them into slices and put them in a single layer on a cookie sheet or big plate, you can put store them all in a tupperware after they are frozen and they won’t stick together. That way you won’t have to deal with plastic bags either. =) “IQF” fruit: individually quick frozen! Have a great day.

I buy bananas that are ripe for freezing too, I also do strawberries and blueberries its good to stock up for when they are not in season!

I’m so glad you showed how you freeze your bananas! I’m a total doofus and just stuck mine in the freezer last night (skin and all) and needless to say, I couldn’t get it peeled. I had to defrost it in the micro for a few seconds which turned it into a nasty mess but I still made my Green Monster and couldn’t tell that I had put a mushy banana in there!

The puppies are adorable!
