Caffeine Fiend

by hungryyogini on October 19, 2009

The caffeine gods were NOT on my side today! After an early morning wake up call (6:00am to make the two hour drive back to Gainesville before a full day of class and meetings!), all I wanted when I got back was a hot cup of coffee to wake me right up. Ahh yes, coffee. That would make the morning perfect…

Of course, the caffeine gods had other plans. The coffee maker was broken! No coffee at breakfast. Just an empty carafe staring me in the face, teasing me with it’s energy boosting ways. What have I ever done to you!? Is there any justice in the world!?

Moving on.

I did not panic that much and went to Plan B for my caffeine fix a few hours later…

What tha?!?! No coke zero!? Not that I would put that chemical laden garbage into my body anyway… Wink

Luckily my luck changed this afternoon. All was right in the world again when the coffee machine was repaired.

And The Hungry Yogini lived happily ever after….

Speaking of happy endings…dinner tonight was a delicious end to a very long day. I stir-fried some broccoli, broccoli slaw, spinach and black beans in some coconut oil in the rice cooker, then threw in some salt & peppah, and some Mexican seasoning to create this little dish.

The ingredients, which will probably make this same dish three or four more times, only cost $8.00. So less than $2 a serving!? You really CAN eat healthy on a budget!

Well, I think I’ve had enough green veggies for the week, yes? Wink

Here’s a song for the road. You guys are going to love this one! Just heard it today. Lucky for me I know someone who has amazing taste in music and is constantly keeping my playlists fresh. Just want to share the love with you guys too… Open-mouthed

Great site! I’m glad I found it. I just started my own blog and actually have a couple of posts relating to a ‘dilemna’ I am in regarding yoga/life/etc…if you have time, I’d love to hear your take on it! Thanks so much!

ugh I feel that caffeine fix need. You KNOW that I am grabbing a deliciously warm cuppa joe on my way to class today. At 2pm. Yeah, its one of those days

I’m glad I’m not a coffee addict! I only drink it like once a week! :P

Broken coffee maker?! *Dies* Coffee is my saving grace of waking up at 4:45. Glad you found some coffee in your life eventually!

I totally agree! Just because you’re in college doesn’t mean you have to subsist off cup of noodles and ramen (ahem, many of the students around me…) Thanks for the great ideas and cheap meals!

So, that song kinda made my day! And it’s only 9:30a, so that must be a good sign. Thanks, dear!

Oh NO! There are few things (food-related) worse than a caffeine need without a fix in sight! Glad to know you survived. :)

I love the whitest boy alive! :)

Yiiikes, needing coffee and not being able to find any is the WORST!! Glad you managed to get some eventually :-)

I NEED my coffee first thing in the morning. I usually wake up and like a zombie walk over to the coffee maker. It’s the only way I can start my day. I’d lose it if coffee was not available. Not that I’m addicted or anything ;)
Gorgeous dinner! I need to get me some coconut oil. I bet it makes the dish a little extra special :)

I think I might’ve screamed if I saw both the Coke Zero and Cherry Zero out! Not that I drink those or anything… ;-)

Do you use canned black beans for this stir fry?
