Socially Acceptable

by hungryyogini on November 27, 2009

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Forget the Turkey…I’m just glad it’s now socially acceptable to blast Christmas music at all times of day. Not that I would ever do that, say…in June. Definitely not.

Anyway.

We had  a really nice day yesterday. Holidays used to bring quite a bit of anxiety for me…so much focus on food. Yesterday was business as usual and it felt soooooo good. I used to work out furiously in the morning, then eat like a bird until dinner came around. Yah, that plan always backfires. Best to just treat it like “business as usual!”

Speaking of socially acceptable…don’t you just love that it’s okay to have sangria in the middle of the day!? At least it is when we get together…

The perfect glass. The first perfect glass that is.

I love this stuff. We had it for my 21st birthday earlier this year too. Yummmm.

Oh, and it’s also socially acceptable to eat your vegetables with brown sugar and pecans on Thanksgiving..

Sweet Potato casserole. Enough said.

It was a glorious day spent with not one family, but two! We had dinner with Dad’s side…

Oh…hey Dad.

And of course, anytime spent with Nana is fun. She said “Oh, Courtney. You look beautiful! I always new you got my looks.” Gotta love her.

After dinner we headed over to spend some time with Mom’s side My cousin Kendall is quite the pianist and I love to sing, so of course, a duet was born and we spent a good chunk of the evening sitting at the piano laughing and singing. It’s definitely socially acceptable to belt “Where are You Christmas?” and “Love Song” for hours during the holidays.

Typical. Didn’t happen to snap any pictures, but a good time was had by all. In fact, we stayed their until past 11:00pm! Good times.

Hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful too. No shopping for me today… Gotta save those pennies for Paris Wink. My yoga studio has just one class today…a two hour “hot flow,”  where it’s definitely socially acceptable to breathe heavily and sweat profusely.  Me likey.

Business as usual. Yep, that’s the way to do it my friend. A holiday spent with family and music followed by a day at the yoga studio. Perfect if you ask me. :)

Sounds like you had a great time with your family. Your Nana is precious. The sweet potato casserole looks divine!

And HALLELUJAH about blasting Christmas music. I can’t wait!

2 hours of Hot Yoga!! Yikes…I feel bad for barely having the time to commit to 20 mins…and I’m doing the teacher training…oye – working full-time and studying sucks …and procrastinating doesn’t help…love your site – add me to your roll if you check mine out!
I think I need to go do some meditating to chill out now – haha :)
